Decorator of Canada's Grand Hotels

Resources

The McCord Museum archives house Kate and Hayter's personal papers as well as photographs, portraits and paintings by well known Canadian artists. The CPR Archives are now located in the Canadian Railway Museum in St-Constant, Quebec.

Museums and archives have contributed valuable information and photographs: the archives of the Universities of Manitoba and Alberta; the Blackadder Lauderman Archives, McGill University; the Charlotte County Museum, St. Andrews; the Glenbow Museum, Calgary; the Whyte Museum, Banff; Victoria City Archives, Victoria; the Edison Museum, Orange, New Jersey; les Archives du Québec and Action Patrimoine, Quebec City. The list of historians and family members is too long to mention here but it is their input that has helped uncover Kate Reed’s legacy and the Canada she loved.
